YGLAM is a GLBTIQ Youth Theatre group for those aged between 14 and 25. The group was established in 1998 and has been running for 10 years and has done 13 shows and their 14th show will be on in 2009. They have done outstanding productions such as My Brother Is A Lesbian, My Fishnet Singlet, Like Its A Bad Thing, Children of The Gods, Welcome To 6 Degree, Age Sex Location and the most recent for Melbourne Fringe 'Im not Drowning, I am learning to swim'
Each performance is devised, scripted and performed by the actors from scratch. The issues covered are usually related to the GLBTIQ community and aimed towards youth but the group is always evolving.
There is currently about 10 people in both performing arts and backstage.
YGLAM isn't just for those interested in performing, it is also for those interested in the aspects of set design, lighting, sound and stage management, the possibilities are endless.
