Podcasts and a sneak peak for next week

PODCASTS:

You guys wanted content, like the tech-hungry youth you are, so we are delivering! We'll be podcasting our shows over the next few weeks. So if you'd like to listen to the best bits of Gen Next then make sure you subscribe and chuck them on your iphone (or ipod if you're poor like us).

NEXT WEEK:

It's Generation SEX (or so we've been labelled by the community), but is our generation really sex obsessed? Maybe we're just open minded. We'll be covering the topics of:
- SEXting (sending naked images of yourself online or by phone)
- Safe Sex
- Group / Party Sex (Is it really the new "oral sex"? What really goes on behind the scenes)

Make sure you tune in Next Tuesday at 9pm on JOY 94.9 - Hosts, Micah and Chantelle.

26.05.09

Petro, Steve and Kyle held one amazing jam-packed show:

- Chantelle (from SYN's "Rainbow Juice") played us a Vox Pop from the streets of Melbourne, asking people what they thought of bullying and labels.

- Lessa joined us to talk about an upcoming youth theatre festival titled BOW WOW! It takes place 1st-7th June at the Northcote Town Hall. For details, visit their blog.

- Natalie from Eating Disorders Victoria joined us to discuss an issue that affects many young people: body image and eating disorders. She put to rest some common myths that surround eating disorders, and talked about the main influences that trigger eating disorders, as well as her role as a Recovery Officer. For help and information, check out their website.

- John from the TAC (Transport Accident Commission) promoted this year's "Make A Film, Make A Difference" competition which encourages young people to send in ideas for a short 2 minute film about the effects of reckless driving. Two winners are given a $20,000 budget to produce their film, as well as a $5,000 cash prize! For details, and to watch past winner films, visit their website.

For "Gay School", we discussed with much awe, 9 year old Ethan who organised a Gay Marriage rally in the US. Watch his speech, it's so cute!
